FLOWOOD, Mississippi – ChiroHealthUSA, a provider-owned network that works in conjunction with a Discount Medical Plan Organization (DMPO), announced today that a record breaking $212,000 was donated back to the profession in 2015 with more than $700,000 donated since 2007. The donations are made possible by over 3,000 participating providers and their teams who offer ChiroHealthUSA to their patients, making health care in their offices affordable.
“Giving back to a profession that has meant so much to me and my family has been our goal from day one,” said Dr. Ray Foxworth, President, ChiroHealthUSA.
In 2015, ChiroHealthUSA also announced the creation of The Foxworth Family Chiropractic Scholarship, in honor of Dr. Foxworth’s parents, Drs. Betty Pace Matthews and Charles Vernon Mathews. This scholarship will award $10,000 to one chiropractic student each year, beginning this year. In addition, ChiroHealthUSA will make a $10,000 donation to the winning student’s chiropractic college.
When asked what motivated him to provide such strong support for the profession, Dr. Foxworth responded, “My mom started practice as a single mother in 1968, with no insurance reimbursement and no license in the state of Mississippi. She remarried shortly after entering practice and I can remember the struggles we had. We ate our meals around a folding army surplus table, which I have to this day. X-rays were developed in garbage cans and I specifically recall her being down to her last 37 cents and wondering where the next new patient was coming from. My folks never gave up. That is love for a profession and I experienced it first-hand. I've always wanted more for this profession, so none of us ever has to experience anything like that.”
ChiroHealthUSA partners with many state and national organizations including, the Congress of Chiropractic State Associations, the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice Parameters, the World Federation of Chiropractic and over 30 state associations.
“We are all part of chiropractic,” said Dr. Foxworth “and we all need to help, invest and support the advancement of our profession.”
Founded in 2007, ChiroHealthUSA is a simple, compliant and profitable way for chiropractors to both protect and grow their practices.
