Future Health Founder and CEO Dr. Steven J. Kraus Addresses ACA House of Delegates

Educates on Future of EHR, the Medicare EHR Incentive and Meaningful Use Requirements

DES MOINES, Iowa (October 6, 2011)—Dr. Steven J. Kraus, acknowledged EHR expert and founder and CEO of Future Health software (creators of eConnect and Virtual Office Suite) recently spoke in Portland, Ore., at the American Chiropractic Association's (ACA) annual House of Delegates meeting.

Dr. Kraus addressed the delegates about the future of EHR (electronic health records), particularly pertaining to the chiropractic profession. Additionally, Dr. Kraus reviewed the benefits chiropractors can receive from the Medicare EHR Incentive and discussed the timely issue of impending Meaningful Use requirements.

About the Medicare EHR Incentive

The Medicare EHR Incentive offers chiropractors up to $44,000 over five years for implementing a certified EHR system within their practice. These incentives are part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. The amount received is based on Medicare-allowed charges submitted during the payment year or payment time frame. Chiropractors receive 75 percent of their eligible Medicare-allowed charges, up to the maximum limit for a certain payment year.
