New York Times reports that aging is a risk factor for foot pain

Foot pain in the elderly could lead to arthritis, diabetes, circulatory disease and impair balance.

October 2013- The New York Times reported in April 2013 that the elderly are at a great health risk due to foot pain and according to AARP with 8,000 Americans turning 65 every day these problems are only going to get worse for our elderly.  A recent survey of the American Podiatric Medical Association found that 53% of respondents reported foot pain so severe that it impaired their daily function.  Most of our elderly believe that pain is part of the aging process and they learn to live with it which could lead to a greater degree of sedentary living and a host of health problems.
